Equipment Service Technician

Job Summary

The Equipment Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing car wash equipment for our client car wash operators.   This position requires the necessary skills and experience to meet our customers’ equipment needs safely and efficiently along with an understanding of up-to-date technology to address equipment and project challenges.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnoses and corrects mechanical problems of customers’ car wash equipment in a fast-paced environment to minimize customer downtime.

  2. Adjusts equipment & repairs/replaces defective parts, components, or systems according to the scope of work and as per the work order

  3. Tests repaired car wash equipment to ensure proper operational performance.

  4. Carries out corrective maintenance activities as required.

  5. Carries out equipment installations, testing and modifications as required.

  6. Upgrades customers’ equipment with new equipment/technology as required.

  7. Follows company policies and safety standards.

  8. Maintains clean work area including company vehicles and the Company warehouse.

  9. Works with other trades groups at job sites to complete project assignments.

  10. Maintains positive customer relationships with effective communication.

  11. Consistent bending, kneeling, and lifting of 50+ pounds required.

  12. Processes required paperwork correctly and in timely manner.

  13. Works well with other members of the service team and the office personnel to ensure Company standards and flow communication is maintained.

  14. Assists with the delivery of car wash chemical as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Mechanical trade certification or diploma

  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of industrial equipment maintenance

  • Very comfortable with mechanical assemblies (able to identify mechanical problems and take apart and rebuild assemblies).

  • Plumbing, electrical, and pneumatic experience would be an asset.

  • Customer service excellence and job safety mindset.

  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Valid driver's license and driving record free from any violations for the past 2 years.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proven track record as a strong team player.

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs on a regular basis.

 

Job Details​

  • Permanent, Full Time Position

  • Hours – Monday to Friday with some weekend and overtime work

  • Travel to customer car wash sites throughout the GTA, Southern, Eastern and Central Ontario with some overnight travel

  • Company vehicle provided
